Briar Baughman wants his
customers to feel like family.
This husband and father of
two recognizes that moving can be a frustratingly trying time for a person, which is why the standards of the veteran-owned and -operated Off Load Moving are set very high, guaranteeing a positive and personable experience for the customer with movers who enjoy what they do and aren’t “like robots,” as Briar puts it.
“There are three things that are most stressful in a person’s life,” says Briar, “and that’s having a kid, being

married/getting a divorce and MOVING, so we strive to ensure that a third of your life is stress-free!” As a child, he moved nearly 20 times with his parents and witnessed extremely poor customer service with various moving companies, which prompted a strong sense of dread when it came to moving.
While attending Hampden-Sydney College, Briar played football and studied mechanical engineering. During this time, he and his wife, Casey, had their first child. He was dedicated to
supporting his young family and joined the Army National Guard. “I wanted to ensure I could take care of them [family],” says Briar. Once he returned from the military, he planned to take
his experience and knowledge from all those years of moving and apply them to his next endeavor by starting Off Load Moving.
“We are a full-service moving
company that caters to all of our
clients, big or small,” says Briar. Once you become a customer of Off Load Moving, you also become family. Briar even keeps in touch with his very
first clients, with whom he’s created a tradition of seeing every Halloween. He strives to establish and develop family-like relationships, particularly with
those in the real estate industry.
Briar married his high school
sweetheart, Casey, who is nearly
finished with nursing school. They have two sons, Aiden, 3, and Declan, 1.
“I’m grateful for my amazing wife and our crazy boys as my biggest support system,” says Briar. The family spends quality time together through epic nerf gun battles, visits to the park and beach and cooking together. In his personal time, Briar likes to work on his truck and trailer, work out, go to the gun range, try to complete his monthly book and, especially, focus on being a
good husband and father.
Briar brings his strong family
values to his business. He is the one who answers the phone and does the estimates, and being present during each move-out is his top priority. “We are a full-service moving company,”
explains Briar. “We provide full packouts from packing your kitchen to just your closets, loading/unloading, in-house moves, senior/college moves,
PCS, as well as military/first responder discounts.” Off Load Moving loves to express its appreciation for the military
and first responders by donating
about 5%-10% of its profits to various charities throughout the year.
Briar recommends for those looking to move to hire a moving company that is reliable, licensed, insured and bonded
to prevent unnecessary headaches throughout the moving process.
